While China remains the main manufacturing hub for Apple devices, the company has recently expanded its assembly operations. Foxconn’s factory in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is currently assembling the base model of the iPhone 15.
This information comes from Brazilian tech blog MacMagazine. Although Apple has not officially confirmed the news, iPhone numbers end with “BR/A” on the checkout page of the Apple online store in Brazil.
Currently, only the standard 6.1-inch iPhone 15 is being assembled in Brazil, while the iPhone 15 Plus and Pro models are still imported from China. Considering that iPhone prices are higher in Brazil, this may be due to higher sales volume of the standard model.
