Elon Musk’s space company SpaceX now has enough satellites in Earth orbit to reach all seven continents of our planet with Starlink’s internet. The information comes from the owner of the company on Twitter.

As Musk struggled with the social network to survive his venture and buy it unharmed, he took to Twitter to say: “Starlink is now active on every continent, including Antarctica.”

The feat comes after SpaceX launched 54 more satellites for Starlink on Sunday. Counting those currently in orbit, the company currently has more than 3,100 satellites around the world trying to bring the internet to every corner of the globe. Musk’s goal is to conquer this with a total of 42,000 satellites by mid-2027.

This success came shortly after the FCC rejected a grant of approximately $900 million to expand Starlink’s operation to reach rural and remote areas in the United States, citing that the company “could not demonstrate that providers can deliver the promised service.” SpaceX called the decision “flawed” and “completely unfair”.
