The device received a sensor similar to Apple’s Face ID. This allows the lock to recognize faces by creating 3D images. In this case, if the device finds the scanned face in the database, it decides whether or not to open the door.
It is worth noting that the novelty also allows you to open doors in more traditional ways: with a key, password, as well as with a fingerprint or smartphone application.
Xiaomi promises that the 6250 mAh battery will allow the “smart” door lock to work on a single charge for up to six months.
The start of sales of the new products is scheduled for September 28. The pre-order price of the device is $285, and $315 after the full release.
