Apple Watch Series 8 and Ultra owners have been complaining to Apple and MacRumors about sudden microphone sounds that prevent some system functions from working.
The microphone on the watch can be shared at any time for an indefinite period of time, causing Dictation, Siri, Handwashing, and Noise to stop working.
Rebooting the Apple Watch briefly fixes the watch, but then the microphone goes off again. This is a watchOS issue that will be fixed in the next updates.
