This year, Apple once again put a lot of emphasis on the photographic (and not only) capabilities of the iPhone 14 Pro.
The difference between Pro and non-Pro started with the iPhone 12, while they were produced in the 11th line. As a result, with the previous generation, in the new camera sensors that were changed all over, they began to cause even more light and increased in size.
Traditionally, professional photographers have already tested the new cameras and even compared them with a Fujifilm camera for 130 thousand rubles.
We also decided to test the iPhone 14 Pro in action. Without local lighting, everything was done automatically. With 13 Pro, the difference is not so obvious, so we decided to go further – to the iPhone 12. By the way, the iPhone 14 Pro can already be bought in Russia.

What cameras are installed in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 12
As we noted in our iPhone 14 Pro review, switching from the iPhone 13 Pro doesn’t make any sense unless you need to have the latest smartphone all the time. But in the case of older patterns, everything can turn out a little differently.
On the iPhone 14 Pro side:

When shooting against the bright sun on both smartphones, correction results are produced. However, in particularly dark areas on the 12th iPhone, slight noises are observed, but only when detected and if you look out for a long time.
For the rest, there is no difference.
In the case of the building above, deviations are already more visible. In the automatic shooting mode on the iPhone 12, fine details of the facade are blurred, while on the iPhone 14 Pro, on the contrary, they are clear.
Grass can also separate into separate parts in the “proshka”, although it is still porridge. But not the same as the “dvenashki”.
The ultra-wide-angle camera has received a new, faster lens, which makes it easier to select incoming rays. White’s balance has changed slightly, and it’s noticeable.
Colors with “Superwide” 14 Pro Draw more natural and closer to the truth.
It is also noticed that he began to give out more details. If you look at a brick wall, you can see how the iPhone 12 lacks any texture at all, while certain details begin to emerge on the flagship.
It did not do without Photonic Engine technologies – an improved version of Deep Fusion. The innovation allows you to add more details to images taken in low light conditions.
At night, observed with the naked eye, how the “proshka” lingers in parts of the color rendition, details and glows. The iPhone 12 is especially visible at dawn, which created a halo around the inscriptions on the building and from other light sources.
Small inscriptions in the flagship are clearer, although the year before last smart is slightly receding. However, in such an America, both devices turn into unrecognizable things.
What I liked the most was how the textures of the walls were processed in the presence of light sources: a lantern, a window and a purple backlight. In each brick, different shades shimmer, and on nearby brightly highlighted shadows.
Notice the foliage. The iPhone 14 Pro highlights the borders of each leaf, while the iPhone 12 characterizes them in a one-point thick coverage area.
Macro stackers for smartphones work about the same for parts of the blur. But look at the color rendering. With the newer ones, it is much better and shows true colors, while for some reason the old smartphone offers to beautify the image, which appears more green.
But with a drop, the situation is completely different. At 14 Pro, it is clear, while at the “dvenashki” part is slightly blurry inside. Although the edges of the “fourteenth” decided to grease everything for some reason.

In the dark to classic exposure and ISO analysis Night mode. It looks and feels like increased closing speed, but works differently. The iPhone 14 Pro feels like it takes a little less time to hold the iPhone still than the 12.

The essence of the new mode is that it compensates for the natural vibration of the camera due to the second generation Sensor Shift stabilizer.

Apple says you don’t need a gimbal when shooting video on the move. In fact, of course, this is not entirely true. The shaking is indeed greatly removed, but in fact it is still better to use an external stabilizer.
However, the functionality really can be useful for shooting spectacular videos.
There is a difference, but it is difficult to name it significantly
Even in the case of the iPhone 12, the novelty has not gone very far in terms of daytime shooting quality. But there is a significant gap in the night photo.
At the same time, there are no identical cameras in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 14 Pro. Their characteristics are different, but because of the separation in small details, you have to look more carefully.
The iPhone 12 Pro also has a telephoto camera. And according to the received frames, it practically corresponds to the top-end iPhone. All the difference comes down to less noise, more detailed frames and more pronounced shadows.
