The British research group Kantar withdrew from the shareholding of the Russian company Mediascope, a single meter of television and Internet audience, reports RBC.

Russian audience meter Mediascope ran out of foreign shareholders

Kantar Media owned 20% of Mediascope, 80% owned by VTsIOM-Media. In March, the group already announced plans to halt business operations in Russia and halt market research activities. Kantar Russia and ARMI Marketing operate in this area.

“In September 2022, a final agreement was reached, under which Kantar transferred its Russian assets to Mediascope’s management,” Mediascope told the publication.

Details about the terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is known that it is not about ARMI Marketing’s asset.

In the summer, Kantar conducted a study that showed that most Russians switched to domestic music platforms after popular foreign services left the country.

On September 30, Great Britain banned the Russian Federation from using the services of its advertising and IT companies.
