Overclocking expert Luumi has come up with a simple method to determine which Intel Alder Lake processors support avx-512. Since the beginning of March, this instruction set has been hardware blocked on twelfth generation Core CPUs, which means there are different variants in circulation.
For example, Luumi shows in a YouTube video that you can determine if avx-512 is disabled by looking at the title. If an oval is engraved on the Intel logo, avx-512 is not disabled. A large and small square indicates a newer model that no longer offers support.
The i5-12600K above offers the avx-512 (left) that the Pentium G7400 lacks.
Earlier in March, Intel announced that avx-512 is no longer supported on its 12000 series processors. Theoretically, all previous models can use this instruction set, provided you have a lga1700 motherboard with a compatible bios. Earlier this year, Intel instructed its partners to block this feature in future updates.
