Developer CD Projekt Red has shared updated sales figures for Cyberpunk 2077. The game has now gone over the counter (digital or otherwise) more than 18 million times. However, even though the game was only released on December 10 of that year, 2020 was by far the most sales.

In the last three weeks of 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 sold 13.7 million copies. Another 4.3 million copies were added in 2021. That means sales are well below the 30 million units CD Projekt Red had expected, which has already caused the share price to drop sharply.

More than half of all copies sold were for PC; 26.1 percent were for PS4 versions and 17.8 percent were for Xbox One. Remarkably, the PS4 accounted for 22 percent of sales in 2021 despite not being available on the PlayStation Store in the first half of the year due to performance issues.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles lack the overview, presumably as the ‘next-gen’ update for the game isn’t released until March 2022. Until then, only the PS4 and Xbox One versions were playing on the new consoles.
