The problem with the system was reported by Microsoft’s chief program manager, Ned Pyle. According to him, the speed drops when copying large files from a remote computer or server to a computer with Windows 11 22H2. This applies to files that “weight” several gigabytes.

Experts believe the problem is with the SMB network protocol, no other opinions yet. But the problem is that the same system slowdown was observed when copying local files and directly on the computer. This makes it difficult to find a solution.

To remedy the situation, users were advised to use the robocopy or xcopy utilities with the /J option – this will help increase copying speed.
