Telecom operators Megafon and its subsidiary Yota will merge their retail networks by the end of 2023.
The project, according to MegaFon’s message, will allow “increasing the efficiency of retail, reducing network development costs by a third and increasing store traffic by 15%”.
MegaFon’s representative did not disclose the amount of costs for the unification of networks. In addition, the company did not specify how much the interconnected network will eventually decrease or increase.
“Despite the fact that MegaFon and Yota as telecom operators have a fundamentally different audience in terms of consumption of mobile services, their needs in terms of service and purchase of electronic products are identical. <...> The merger will reduce development costs by a third and provide subscribers of the two operators with maximum opportunities in the field of customer service,” said Oleg Telyukov, COO of MegaFon.
The project includes both the opening of new halls and the merger of existing ones. Until the end of 2023, all owned and franchised salons will operate in a new format.
The first three joint co-branded salons have already been launched in Nizhny Novgorod, Krasnogorsk and Yegoryevsk.
