On the occasion of THQ Nordic’s Showcase 2022, it was announced with a trailer Alone in the darkreboot of the 90s historical survival horror. The game is described as: reinterpretation of the first chapter of the series, so we can already imagine that it will contain an original story, but with the characters linked to the old chapters of the series (as evidenced by the presence in the trailer of Grace Saunders, co-star of Alone in the Dark 2 and its spin-off Jack in the Dark).
The announcement had been anticipated several hours ago by several leaks, including one from the now infallible insider the Snitch who had suggested with a tweet the return of the series, quoting one of the famous phrases from the movie dedicated to the game: “Being afraid of the dark is what keeps most of us alive“.
At the moment we have very little information. we just know the story of Alone in the dark will take us to America in 1920 to reprise the role of Edward Carnby, a private detective hired by Emily Hartwood to find her uncle.

Return to Derceto Manor in this reimagined version of Alone in the Dark, a love letter to the classic ’90s cult horror game. When Emily Hartwood learns her uncle is missing, she sets out with the help of private detective Edward Carnby to find it. Arriving at Derceto Manor, a home for mentally unstable people, they encounter strange inhabitants, portals to nightmarish worlds, dangerous monsters and finally have to stop a plan to summon the evil one.
Alone in the dark has no release date yet. It comes on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X.
