Xiaomi has prepared a tutorial showing how to transfer photos and videos to Google Photos account:
- Go to Gallery Sync and click “Move to Google Photos”;
- Select the Google account to which you want to send the files;
- Accept relevant permissions;
- Choose the limited trial or upgrade to Google One if you need more space during your migration.
- Return to Gallery Sync and monitor the migration status.
Other Xiaomi Cloud services – syncing and backing up contacts and messages – will remain active. Supposedly, Gallery Sync is supposed to be a China-only feature, and subscribers in other regions will be refunded.
