In one of the broadcasts on BENCHMARKS FOR GAMERS, we tested an AMD Phenom II X4 810/AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D based assembly with an RTX 3080 SG 12GB graphics card in 8 modern games. These projects were launched in 1080p and 2160p. Games included Dirt 5, Kena, Fortnite, The Witcher 3, Forza Horizon 5, CS:GO, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord.

HORSE Dirt 5 With the ultra preset at 1080p, the average frame rate was 39 fps (Phenom II) and 147.5 fps (Ryzen 7) at 2160p – 41 fps and 83 fps, respectively.

kena I also ran it on ultra graphics settings. Average FPS at 1080p was 51.5 fps and 151.5 fps (Phenom II and Ryzen 7). At 2160p the figures were 38.5 fps and 65.5 fps.

Fortnite It came with epic graphics. Average performance in this game was 43.5 fps and 197.5 fps (1080p, Phenom II and Ryzen 7), 41.5 fps and 76 fps (2160p, Phenom II and Ryzen 7).

witch 3 run with ultra preset. The average frame rate at 1080p was 33.5fps with the Phenom II X4 810 and 176fps with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, and 36.5fps and 86fps at 2160p, respectively.

Forza Horizon 5 It came with the Extreme preset and MSAA 2X. Average performance in the game at 1080p was 38.5 fps and 130.5 fps (Phenom II and Ryzen 7, respectively), 2160p – 35.5 fps and 86.5 fps.

CS:GO Run at very high graphics settings. Average frame rates here were 75fps and 775fps at 1080p (Phenom II X4 810 and Ryzen 7 5800X3D respectively), 68fps and 356.5fps at 2160p.

HORSE Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege Average performance with ultra graphics at 1080p was 84 fps and 518 fps (Phenom II and Ryzen 7), 99 fps and 189.5 fps at 2160p.

Mount & Blade II: Banner Lord went with a very high preset. At 1080p this game managed to average 34fps (Phenom II X4 810) and 306.5fps (Ryzen 7 5800X3D) at 2160p – 24fps and 117fps.

The performance difference between the Phenom II X4 810 and the Ryzen 7 5800X3D in modern gaming projects is very, very significant. At 1080p it was 83% (50 fps and 300 fps), at 2160p it was 64% (48 fps and 132.5 fps).
