This is the “first episode” of a so-called podcast series called “Podcast.ai” created by Play.ht, which sells audio synthesis services.

“Transcripts are created using fine-tuned language models,” Play.ht writes on Podcast.ai. “For example, the episode with Steve Jobs was based on his biography and all the records we could find on the internet so AI could bring it to life properly.”

19-minute interview “doesn’t make much sense.” After a while, portions of the fictional interview begin to look like a conceptual mix of Jobs’ usual talking points, including aesthetics, revolutionary products, competitors like Google, Microsoft, and Adobe, and the triumphs of the original Macintosh.

For example, in one part of the interview, the fake Jobs criticizes Microsoft, which is very similar to what Jobs said in his famous 1995 Triumph of the Nerds interview, but this is not a copy, of course.
