A little less than a week ago, Apple restored all VKontakte services in the App Store, but did not explain the reason for this decision.

Now, Apple spokesman Peter Ajemian, in a statement emailed to The Verge, has clarified the situation:

Upon extraction by a developer in the United Arab Emirates, discovered that the controlling stake is not owned or involved in the sanctions sources. Thus, the applications have been restored to the App Store.

In other words, the company is not sanctioned and can be found more freely in the app store. [The Verge]
