Scientists from the Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences are actively developing a Russian lithographic facility for the production of microchips in accordance with advanced technological standards – the first prototype of the corresponding facilities is already ready, on which 7-nanometer test tests were obtained.

By the way, now in Russia semiconductors are mass-produced at best according to the 65-nm process technology, but mainly 90-nm products are in production. However, it is not worth talking about some serious breakthrough in this area – industrial equipment may begin, which may take about six years to produce chips using 7-nm and finer technical processes, which we prepared in three stages.

It is planned that by 2024 the so-called “alpha machine” should be presented approximately – the installation will be presented in the form of working equipment with the termination of the entire cycle of production operations and the full implementation of all food systems.

Russia will produce 7nm semiconductors

By 2026, a “beta machine” should already be released, in which all systems and components will be finalized, improved and loaded to the maximum, as the high stability of the equipment will increase. This installation will need to be used in large productions and in minor technical processes, which is likely to completely debug the production of microchips on modern equipment.

At the next, final, expected stage of development, expected for the period from 2026 to 2028, domestic lithographic equipment is more promising, finalized quickly, and also provided. Installation will be faster and much more precisely.
