Modification of the Model 3 Standard Range for 39 thousand dollars (3.69 million rubles at the exchange rate of the Central Bank as of October 3) was removed from the American Tesla website. This vehicle was the brand’s cheapest electric car. Now the most affordable is the long-range rear-wheel drive Model 3, which costs 42.5 thousand dollars (just over 4 million rubles).
The publication clarifies that Elon Musk’s corporation periodically introduces changes to the equipment of its cars without giving explanations. Electrek believes that the likely reason for the model’s discontinuation was that the Model 3 Standard Range was equipped with a Chinese LFP battery.
In September, Tesla began working on wireless charging for electric cars. Reuters sources also said the automaker plans to launch production of the six-seat Model Y in China in 2025.
