The fact that it was decided to reject the bill on a single digital advertising operator, which caused controversy and criticism from various organizations and departments, writes Vedomosti, citing sources in the Council of the State Duma.

According to the interlocutor of the publication, it was decided to quickly submit the bill to a second reading in order to reject it. Another source from the newspaper said that before the second reading, the state Duma committee would make recommendations on the draft, then it would be rejected at a meeting on November 8 or 9.

The bill on a single digital advertising operator provides for the creation of an organization that will manage advertising screens and advertising platforms. The project was criticized by the Ministry of Digital Development, the Federal Antimonopoly Service and market participants who said that the creation of such an operator would lead to monopolization of the market.

Earlier it became known that the approval of the bill has been postponed indefinitely. The presidential administration and government officials did not reach a common opinion on the bill on a single advertising operator, Vedomosti wrote.
