“Pro-Ukrainian” hackers hacked Yappy and stole the data of 2 million users, Kommersant writes. The leak was confirmed by specialized Telegram channels.
It is assumed that access to Yappy was obtained using the account of one of the service administrators.
According to the Data1eaks channel, 2,160,348 million phones are stored in the stolen database. In addition, there are four data tables in the database, including username, birth name, smartphone model and firmware version, password hash, user ID, and allocated account data.
The database weighs about a gigabyte and is up-to-date as of July 1 this year.
Yappy and Gazprom-Media, which own the social network, have not confirmed the emissions. In July, Gazprom-Media announced that in the first half of the month, the Yappy audience exceeded 4 million users.
According to the new law, in the event of a data breach, the organization pays for 24 hours, according to Roskomnadzor. If information about the leak was published in the media or found by Roskomnadzor in a restriction from the company, this may be perceived as the fact that a leak was discovered. [Коммерсантъ]
