A few months ago, Gmail released a new design for the browser version. In addition to the other aesthetic section, Google has also decided to add some new features to its email service. While it has been a reversible process that could have been avoided so far (as we tell you in our guide), this benefit ended today.

The changes will start this month. Google wants to transform its new Watch in the “standard interface for Gmail”, as they comment on their official blog. What does it mean? What you can no longer go back to the previous versionto which many users have long been accustomed.

Is this a positive change or vice versa? Although personally the aesthetic change is welcome and contains more nice elements than the previous version, some features seem redundant. Not all users will use features like Chat, Spaces or Meet as often as Google hopes, but at least those who do will be able to get quick access from the main web.

“An integrated view with Gmail, Chat, Spaces and Meet on the left side of the window will also become the standard for users who have enabled Chat,” the company said in a statement. Luckily, you can choose which apps you want to see and which ones you use the most to keep them fresh. Thus, you have the opportunity to customize the experience for yourself.

The new Gmail interface is here to stay

Google, Gmail

This new Gmail experience features lots of blue tones and bubble elements. In this manner, adapts somewhat to the Material Design 3 design languageincluding Google Sans Text font.

The rollout of the new interface for Gmail began on November 8th. However, Google notes in their blog that Changes will be visible to all users within 15 days.. For this reason, if you want to have the new Gmail interface and it still doesn’t show up, it’s only a matter of time before it becomes the norm.

You can also configure the options available in the Quick Access Toolbar through Gmail settings. In case you don’t want to have such a bar, it is enough to deactivate all applications to return to a more familiar design.. Of course, you will continue to work with the latest version of the interface, but without this shortcut add-on.

In my opinion, the new Gmail interface will be well received. After all, the previous one has already started to seem a bit dated. So it may take you a while to adjust, but once you do, you probably won’t want to come back.
