In his first letter to Twitter employees, the company’s new boss, Elon Musk, announced the end of remote work and urged preparing for tough times, writes Bloomberg.
The American billionaire completed the deal to buy the social network on October 28. In his new position, he immediately dismissed the board of directors and proceeded to lay off employees. It was reported that around 7.5 thousand people would have to leave the company.
According to Bloomberg, Musk sent the first email to employees explaining the prospects for upcoming changes at the company. Under the new requirements, employees must be in the office for at least 40 hours a week.
Before Musk’s arrival, Twitter allowed many employees to work remotely, as it did during the coronavirus pandemic.
“There is a difficult road ahead and hard work will be required to achieve success,” the agency cites the text of the letter.
In the following message, the businessman outlined a priority area for the near future – this is the fight against bots and trolls that received the verification badge.
Earlier this month, Musk announced that Twitter users would now have to pay $8 a month for a blue badge to authenticate an account.
