The Central Bank intends to resume the disclosure of financial indicators of the banking sector. The results of 2022 will definitely be published, said Alexander Danilov, head of the Central Bank’s Department for Banking Regulation and Analysis.

In the spring, credit institutions were allowed to extend the deadlines for disclosure of financial statements.

“We will probably move to fuller disclosure [информации о развитии банковского сектора]”, – Danilov told reporters at the Finopolis forum, was quoted by Interfax.

He clarified that the publication of financial statements under SAR will be mandatory, while the disclosure under IFRS may be left to the choice of the banks.

According to Danilov, it is not yet clear if the data for the first 10 months will be published, but the results for all of 2022 will be made public.

In addition, the Bank of Russia will return to the monthly publication of the balance of ledger accounts. At the same time, Danilov points out, there will be no details in the documents that could increase the risks of sanctions. In particular, there will be no need to disclose information about residents or non-residents.

On the eve of the head of Sberbank, German Gref, for the first time since the beginning of the crisis, spoke about the financial results of the credit institution. According to the results of the first 10 months of the year, the net profit amounted to about 50 billion rubles, almost 20 times less than in 2021 for the same period. At the same time, Gref noted that the business is showing good growth. According to the chairman of the bank’s board of directors, the volume of loans issued has returned to the pre-crisis level.

As the first deputy chairman of the Central Bank, Dmitry Tulin, noted earlier, the losses of Russian banks in the first half of 2022 amounted to 1.5 trillion rubles.
