THEM Netflix launches a new tool to manage devices that have access to the service streaming. from Tuesday (15), users can now disconnect from devices remotely who doesn’t know or it doesn’t want to connect anymore.
The resource is a graceful way, for example, of removing a former partner’s access to the account on the platform without having to change the password. It is also a way to encourage “users” to subscribe to the platform instead of using the service without the owner’s knowledge.
“As the holiday season approaches, it’s common for people to travel and log into their accounts at a hotel or at a friend’s house. But many people forget to log out when they leave,” said Charles Wartemberg, product manager at Netflix.
How to manage devices connected to Netflix?
To remove devices connected to the Netflix account, the subscriber must perform the following steps:
- Access Netflix and enter the “Account” field;
- In the “Security and Privacy” section, click “Manage access and devices”;
- The next page displays all devices and users who have recently accessed the service, including the exact date and IP address;
- If you find an unknown device, simply click “Exit” to disconnect remotely.
Netflix also recommends changing your password as an added form of security, but this is not required.🇧🇷 However, it is possible to receive an email notification when there is a new account login.
Password sharing tool
Netflix’s new feature is useful for customers on the ‘Basic’ and ‘Basic with Ads’ plans that only allow playback on one screen at a time. Thus, the user does not risk accessing the platform at the same time as another person with whom he/she shares the account.
It’s worth remembering that the streaming service will charge for sharing passwords from 2023. Members who do not live in the same house will be charged extra.🇧🇷
