Rostelecom plans to release 70 million smartphones on the Aurora network and create an ecosystem for itself. A project to achieve 480 billion rubles by 2030, writes Kommersant.
The company proposes to release smartphones and tablets together with a group of electronics manufacturers: F +, GS Group and Research Institute Scale.
Financing will be provided from the budget of the federal project “Digital Public Administration” and from the national program “Digital Economy”. The funds are used to create and increase significant, technical support for the ecosystem, purchase of equipment, installation of OS and software, and wages.
In the first year after the implementation of the project, the expected sales revenue amounted to 28 billion rubles.
Rostelecom said that the project is necessary due to “the threat of the impact of organizations and citizens of Russia on the mobile ecosystem of Google and Apple, as well as the location of official representatives of international applications and services.” [Коммерсантъ]
