The core of their project is to help IT professionals relocate to the UK. Immigram helps to find an apartment in the country and open a bank account. For companies, a startup can submit candidates from its own database of applicants – through them, companies like Google, Samsung, Revolut, Atlas and Badoo have recruited new employees.

As a reward, the team would receive €1 million in prize money from investment funds Accel, General Catalyst, Lightspeed Venture Partners, NEA and Northzone. However, less than a day after the results were announced, the organizers began to hesitate.

They stated that the jury will “extensively review Immigram’s activities.” They said the reason for this is that since 2022, the program has not accepted applications from Russian projects due to the “special operation” in Ukraine.

In response, Immigram noted that the initiative was founded by immigrants in the UK. At the same time, they announced that their candidacy was withdrawn from participation in the competition.

As a result, the organizers of Slush 100 announced the cancellation of the company’s victory. Because of “links” with Russia.
