Rockstar says the new rules for RP servers are in line with Rockstar’s existing rules for single-player modes. Both sets of rules prohibit content that uses third-party intellectual property, interferes with official multiplayer services, or creates new “games, stories, missions, or maps” for the game.
But most importantly, the new rules now prohibit “commercial exploitation.” This is a broad term that Rockstar says includes loot boxes, virtual currencies, corporate sponsorships, or any form of integration of cryptocurrencies into “crypto-assets” (NFTs, for example).
Earlier, OTF Gaming and rapper Lil Durk launched “The Trenches” server, which advertises “endemic and non-endemic brands in the gaming space” and integration with NFT’s “Trenches Pass” to access certain content on the server.
