The Lipetsk automaker Motorinvest, which assembles Evolute electric vehicles, has postponed the launch of the i-VAN minivan on the market, as evidenced by information on the company’s official website.
Earlier, the company launched sales of the i-PRO sedan at a price of 2.99 million rubles and the i-JOY crossover for 3.49 million rubles. At the same time, Motorinvest announced plans to start production of i-VAN minivans by the end of 2022.
The i-PRO, i-JOY, and i-JET models are currently listed on the Evolute website in the lineup section. At the same time, instead of the expected i-VAN minivan, a certain C+ SUV is indicated. However, on the site you can still find information about the parameters of the model.
According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the technical characteristics of i-VAN could be the reason for the delay. Unlike the “cars”, the Evolute minivan has only 122 horsepower. With such capabilities, the car can accelerate to 100 km/h in 18 seconds, and 105 km/h is the speed limit for an electric car. At the same time, the same traction battery is installed in the i-VAN as in the i-PRO sedan. The similar characteristics of a commercial car negatively affect the autonomy.
Earlier it became known that the Lipetsk automaker plans to supply its cars to Yandex.Taxi. If the companies agree, in 2023 the service’s taxi fleet will be replaced with I-Pro models.
