Demand for expensive smartphones has fallen in Russia, but Apple still began to stimulate sales in monetary terms, Kommersant writes.
According to MTS, from January to November 2022, smartphone sales fell by 19% in units and by 22% per day, compared to the same period last year.
In just 11 months, about 21 million devices were sold for 477 billion rubles. The average check amounted to 22 rubles, which is 3% lower than last year’s result.
among the entire population, the choice of smartphones is from 30 to 40 thousand rubles. Sales in this segment increased by 30%.
Demand for smartphones 50 thousand rubles fell by 57%, for devices up to 15 thousand rubles – by 35%.
The first place in sales in MTS was taken by Xiaomi (33% in units, including Poco), the second place is taken by Samsung (19%), the first is Realme (14%), followed by Apple (10%) and Tecno (7%) .
In monetary terms, Apple remained with a share of 34%, followed by Samsung (31%), followed by Xiaomi and Poco (24%), Realme (8%) and Tecno (3%).
The most purchased smartphones this year were Xiaomi Redmi 9A, iPhone 11, 12 and 13 and Samsung Galaxy A03. [Коммерсантъ]
