Twitter, even though Elon Musk has gone through the buying process, hasn’t stopped testing the many features that are in development. Over the past weeks, we have been able to learn about many new features that are on the way to the platform, and today we have information about one that has been requested by users for a long time.

We’re talking about sharing different types of media in one tweet. Currently, Twitter only allows us to post images or videos, not both in the same post. However, this restriction will disappear soon.

AT 9to5Mac discovered that Twitter is testing the ability to publish mixed posts. Namely, with picture and video. For now, yes, only one image is allowed to be uploaded, not up to four like in a normal gallery.

This feature, as mentioned earlier, is on the wish list of many users. There are times when we want to share both types of files and the only way to keep the connection between two posts is to create a topic.. This procedure is widely used by film companies, for example, when they share the trailer and poster of their production.

It’s worth noting that Twitter hasn’t commented on this feature yet. We do not know at what stage of development it is, much less when it will be released to all users. Another important point to keep in mind is that the fact of being in the stage testing does not guarantee release. It may even be available with a different operation than what we currently know.

Another offer that Twitter is testing is “Prizes”. Although there are few details, it will probably be possible give prizes to the tweets we liked the most. Of course, the post will list the total number of awards you have received. So, you can finally show off those “tweets” that show your inspiration.

In addition to mixed media tweets and “prizes”, there are other new features that are now officially launched. The most important thing, of course, button to edit tweets, whose work was revealed in a recent leak. We also have “A circle”, which allows you to limit the display of tweets to a specific group of subscribers – a maximum of 150 -. Surely the second function will remind you of “best friends” from Instagram or the circles of the extinct Google+.

Without a doubt, Twitter is evolving in terms of functionality. But the most important change will happen, perhaps, when Elon Musk takes the reins of the social network.
