In Russia, there is no need to create a list of professions for which non-residents will not be able to work remotely, said Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the Federation Council. According to her, restrictions should be introduced only for companies that have access to personal data.

Matvienko urged to limit the “udalenka” from abroad for employees of various companies

Earlier, the State Duma proposed to prohibit non-residents from entering into employment contracts in various specialties. The corresponding bill was introduced by the United Russia faction.

Valentina Matvienko emphasized that she supports the United Russia initiative itself, but tends to take a more “precise” approach on this issue.

“I think there is no need to list certain professions for which tax non-residents will be deprived of the right to remote work. It would be more correct to make a specific record of companies, organizations, positions that have access to personal data, have access to data that may affect the security of information and commercial, etc.”, the speaker shared her vision of the situation, she is quoted by the TASS agency.

He also pointed out the importance of supporting the IT industry which, according to Matviyenko, will not have a positive impact on such bans.

The measure to limit remote work is not intended to discriminate against certain employees, the speaker said.

“Of course, there is an excess of information that now the authorities want to punish those who left Russia in such a difficult and responsible period in this way. That’s not what the idea of such a law is about, that’s for sure. We are not talking about any discrimination or any violation of human rights and freedoms,” Matviyenko said.

At the beginning of the month, a member of the Federation Council, Andrei Klishas, announced a bill to limit remote work. Then, the parliamentarian condemned those who left the country after the announcement of a partial mobilization of the Russians and called to make their stay abroad “less comfortable”.
