Roskomnadzor announced that it intends to verify information about the hacking of Sportmaster’s systems by hackers who allegedly published the personal data of several hundred thousand customers online on December 31.
The online publication Readovka reported on a possible data leak on New Year’s Eve.
Phone numbers, emails, names and purchase information from Sportmaster network customers are alleged to have been entered into the network. Only a part of the entire database, in which “several million lines” remained in the public domain.
Roskomnadzor did not receive any official notification from Sportmaster about this incident (data as of 15:00 on January 1, 2023), although according to personal data legislation, the operator must contact the department within one day. from the time of the incident.
At the same time, Roskomnadzor told RIA Novosti that it was ready to carry out control and supervision measures against the company “if necessary” in accordance with current restrictions on unscheduled inspections.
