Nubank warns its customers does not run any Carnival Pix campaigns and that it is a scam. Just like at Christmas, criminals contact victims and offer cash values.
Like modus operandi, scammers impersonate the bank and send messages via WhatsApp asking the person to enter a link, answer a survey and forward the message to their friends. In response to all this thugs promise transfers up to R$150 on Pix.
“Nubank reports that it does not run any Carnival Pix promotions. If you are affected by this message, do not click on any link or share or give away your personal information.
When filling out the form submitted by the scammers, people hand over important personal information such as passwords, accounts, CPF, RG and other sensitive data.
The method of this type of impact is called. social engineering. In these cases, criminals mislead victims, for example, by impersonating a real company.
What to do if the message is received?
Nubank explained what customers should do when they receive the Carnival Pix message. The bank pointed out that the scammers used the fake “Nu Investimentos” name to make the fraud even more realistic.

- Do not click on the link or provide your personal information;
- Report the person on WhatsApp;
- Report the person through Nubank’s own service channels or by e-mail to pagina.falsa@nubank.com.br;
- Do not disclose or share your Pix key until you are completely sure who is speaking to you on the other side of the message;
