The GSSU RANEPA Digital Transformation Leaders and Teams Training Center conducted a survey of representatives of regional authorities and found that information security specialists will be the most in-demand experts in the public sector in the near future.

Demand for IT professionals in the public sector is double the supply

In addition to information security, authorities are now actively looking for IT architects, programmers and BIM engineers. In the future, the demand for specialists in the field of artificial intelligence will increase.

“The demand for specialists for the digital transformation departments of regional authorities is more than double the supply,” said Natalia Garkusha, director of the Center, in the Digital Personnel section of the International IT Dialogue Forum, which ended yesterday in St. Petersburg. .

The maximum shortage of qualified personnel in the public sector in the field of digital technologies is observed in such areas as:

  • information security,
  • Digital transformation management,
  • Data management,
  • IT Architecture,
  • Project and process management,
  • Development and testing.

Based on this, experts make a logical forecast that until 2024 the most popular will be:

  • big data specialists
  • digital design experts
  • IT Architects,
  • BIM engineers,
  • specialists of state digital services (methodologists and technologists),
  • product owners,
  • project managers,
  • programmers (Java, SQL, Python).

And in the longer term, and specialists in artificial intelligence.
