Real estate and gold have become the most profitable investment vehicles in the last four years. In this time horizon, they only allowed investors to earn more than 10% per year.
For the period from 2019 to 2022, the most profitable investment instruments for private investors were gold and Moscow real estate, according to a study by the Association of Russian Banks.
Over the horizon of the last four years, gold showed an average return of 10.3% per year, the Moscow housing cost indices in rubles, US dollars and euros rose 9.3%, 10.2% and 15, 7%, respectively.
The indices of the Moscow Stock Exchange, RTS and the maximum rates on deposits during the period increased by 6.4%, foreign currency investments showed the lowest yield – 0.8% for the US dollar and 0.4% for the euro.
Thus, investments in gold and real estate became the only instruments that provided the investor with an income of more than 10% per year.
