The Bank of Russia has expanded the list of foreign currencies for which the official exchange rates against the ruble will be established. The Central Bank of the Russian Federation will start calculating them from January 18, the regulator said in a statement.

The Bank of Russia began fixing the official exchange rates of the ruble against 9 other foreign currencies

For which currencies will be established official rates against the ruble:

  1. United Arab Emirates Dirham
  2. thai baht
  3. vietnamese dong
  4. serbian dinar
  5. New Zealand dollar
  6. Georgian laris
  7. indonesian rupiah
  8. Egyptian pound
  9. Qatari Riyal

Currently, the Bank of Russia sets the official exchange rates for the US dollar, the euro, and the Chinese yuan.

Earlier it became known that banks from friendly countries plan to be able to open their branches in Russia. In the future, this should help attract foreign investment.
