The virtual experiment, described by Financial Times reporter John Thornhill, presents the president with a scenario in which 300 nuclear missiles rush towards the United States as part of a preemptive strike against Russia.

The virtual president of the United States has 15 minutes to decide on a retaliatory attack in one of three scenarios. It can lead to the death of 5 to 45 million people.

According to the first scenario, there will be a retaliatory attack on Russia’s main nuclear facilities. The second means an attack on all nuclear facilities, and the third allows, in addition to the destruction of nuclear facilities, the destruction of industrial enterprises and the military-political leadership of the enemy country.

According to the creators, the purpose of the simulation is to examine the decision-making process and the consequences of a nuclear war.
