The Iranian company Daher Group, which has taken over the Russian business of Inditex (Zara, Massimo Dutti, Pull & Bear, Oysho, Bershka, Stradivarius), intends to open stores under new labels in the spring of 2023.
Aviapark will be the first to have a new Maag clothing brand for women, men and children, says Kommersant, citing representatives of the clothing market.
The sale of the Russian part of the Inditex business to the Lebanese company Daher Group became known in autumn 2022.
At the same time, it was announced that the opening of boutiques of popular brands after the departure of Inditex from Russia is possible only under new names.
In December, New Fashion registered domain numbers for future online stores, and the Daher Group announced that it plans to produce part of the collection in Russian facilities, which had previously also been used by the Spanish holding company’s brands.
And if before there was no talk at all about the possible sale of products from Zara, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, Bershka, etc., now Kommersant’s interlocutors admit that “in some stores, the offer of collections produced by Inditex commissioned by Daher Group” /
In this case, the Spanish company will act exclusively as a contractor.
Kommersant sources also state that the Daher Group is already making new collections created in close collaboration with the Inditex team.
At the same time, market experts are confident that, despite the popularity of the Inditex brands, the new stores with new signs will have to cope with low traffic and falling demand in a context of growing competition and greater costs of doing business in the Russian Federation.
