Musk was previously sued by a group of Tesla investors. Musk spoke in court for just over 30 minutes, after which the court session was adjourned until next Monday. But the plaintiffs’ lawyers asked many questions about his Twitter “habits”, especially from all the people in his life who begged him to leave the site.
People who asked him to stop posting on social media included former Tesla board director Antonio Gracias, investors Ron Baron and Musk’s former de facto chief of staff Sam Teller and other close associates. When asked if he was ignoring his advisors and investors, Musk replied, “I guess I just kept tweeting, yes.”
Plaintiffs seek to portray Musk as a reckless man who disregards advice about the significant impact his public statements can have on the stock prices of his company and its shareholders.
