The commercial turnover between Russia and Uzbekistan in 2022 increased by 23% compared to 2021, according to the report of the State Statistics Committee of the republic. It reached $9.28 billion, which is the highest result in Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover.

Russia becomes Uzbekistan’s largest trading partner in 2022

The ministry clarified that today Uzbekistan has trade relations with 204 states. The highest turnover was registered with Russia, amounting to 18.6% of the total volume. The second place is occupied by China – 17.8%. Billing with Kazakhstan accounts for 9.2% of the total volume. Thus, in 2022, Russia became the largest trading partner of the republic.

Overall, in 2022, Uzbekistan increased its foreign trade turnover by 18.6%, increasing it by $7.8 million.

Earlier, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan published data on the number of open companies with the participation of foreign capital. The first place at the top was taken by the Russian Federation; in 2022, representatives of Russian companies launched 967 such companies in the republic. Over the past year, about 190 thousand citizens of the Russian Federation entered the country.
