The Czech “daughter” of Raiffeisen Bank will ban transfers to Russia and Belarus

The organization’s press service explains this step by condemning the hostilities on the territory of Ukraine. It also clarifies that when sending funds to the Russian Federation or Belarus, the bank cannot prevent the use of the financing by sanctioned persons. RBI wants to eliminate the risks of violating international sanctions policy.

The Bank also recalled the current embargo on transfers to Syria, Iran, Sudan and Afghanistan.

Raiffeisenbank, a subsidiary of RBI, continues to operate in the Russian Federation and operates as an independent legal entity. The day before, Raiffeisenbank announced that it would stop accepting foreign currency at its ATMs from February 1. This will increase the availability of ATMs for ruble transactions.
