MegaFon bought InPlat, a software developer for banks, from USM structures, the company decided to develop a financial technology direction. The deal was closed in January, MegaFon’s press service said.

InPlat is the operator’s key partner in the field of mobile commerce. The company processes 80% of the payment flow of the telephone bill.

According to Alexander Sobolev, director of strategy and business development at MegaFon, after the instruments of foreign providers left Russia, the need for online payment facilities increased in the market.

The company, together with InPlat, has already launched several solutions. Among them is the Smart Pay service. With it, you can make a payment in case of insufficient funds in the account. Part of the amount will be deducted from the bank card.

Previously, Megafon released a line of its own Fontel push-button phones. Eight models will go on sale this year, the company announced.
