Memes published or republished by Elon Musk have become prints on t-shirts and other products. Now, An impersonator of the South African billionaire sent several requests to Google to have the links removed from searches..

Various online stores sell products that are in high demand. Recently, Google was notified of the event after receiving takedown requests from Elon Musk himself or someone impersonating him.

Requests that ask Google to remove copyright infringing links have the same format. One of the images in question is the “bots” meme, which refers to an attempt by the tycoon who now owns Twitter to remove robots from the social network.

“The sites below have stolen my copyright and are not entitled to sell them, please remove the links below from your search results,” Musk says in one of the requests.

The real Elon Musk even shared the meme, but he has no rights over the image as he doesn’t own the base photo. The image is of actor Grant Gustin on the set of the CW drama ‘Flash’ and has been used in various memes that have been spreading around the internet for years.

Other requests include the Lego Doctor, Mediocrates and They Brainwashed You memes targeting stores that use prints. One in particular is aiming for a replica of the official Tesla AI Day tee, which is more plausible than the others.
