“OpenCore Legacy Patcher” (OCLP) is a tool that allows older Macs to run macOS Big Sur and Monterey without official support from Apple. Thanks to this tool, enthusiasts were able to run macOS Ventura on older Macs, although it proved to be a daunting task.

Mac computers that can run macOS Ventura with OpenCore:

  • 2008 – 2016 MacBook

  • 2009 – 2017 Macbook Air

  • 2008 – 2016 MacbookPro

  • 2009 – 2017 Mac mini

  • 2007-2017

  • 2008 – 2013 MacPro

According to 9to5Mac, some things may not work as expected as the project is an unauthorized modification by Apple and is still in “active development”.
