885 students between the ages of 18 and 25 participated in the study. They filled out questionnaires about their sleep, attitudes towards suicide, mental health, and substance use.

A total of 363 (40.1%) people reported suicidal ideation during their lifetime, 172 (19.4%) of them reported suicidal ideation in the last 3 months, and 97 (26.7%) attempted suicide in the last 3 months. Sleep disorders predominated in those who had suicidal ideation or attempted suicide throughout their lives. Insomnia was most strongly associated with it.
