In parallel, the company is trying to reassert Intel’s dominant position in the market by expanding contract manufacturing and establishing new factories in the US and Europe. “AMD’s Genoa and Bergamo (data center) chips have a strong price/performance advantage over Intel’s Sapphire Rapids processors, which should further increase AMD’s market share,” said YipitData analyst Matt Wegner.

Other analysts say this puts Intel at a disadvantage, even as the data center market hits its expected second half of 2022, as the company will lose even more share by then.
