One of the largest information security players on the Russian market, Positive Technologies, has decided to reduce its international presence. At the end of 2022, the company closed its offices in the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom, RBC reports, citing a company representative.

Positive Technologies currently has an official representative office in Kazakhstan, but plans to open offices in other countries (no specific plans disclosed).

Positive Technologies began development of the research and development division abroad in 2016. The company recruited staff in the research division in its London office, and also opened a development center in Brno, Czech Republic, where they are located. a large number of technical universities. The center in the Czech Republic was needed to hire programmers to develop products for the foreign telecommunications market.

In the spring of 2021, Positive Technologies was sanctioned by the US due to “support from government agencies, including the FSB, and the organization of large-scale events in which law enforcement representatives participated in recruitment” . In November, the US Department of Commerce added Positive Technologies to the list of organizations prohibited from exporting and re-exporting information security products, computers, and other categories of goods.

According to the Center for Strategic Research (CSR), Positive Technologies ranks second in the ranking of the largest information security providers in Russia, second only to Kaspersky Lab. The volume of the Russian cybersecurity market is estimated at 185.9 billion. rubles in 2021. Russian sellers accounted for 61% of this market, the rest – for foreigners.
