The investment company AFK Sistema is going to buy 10 hotels from the Norwegian Wenaas in Russia for 203 million euros, this amount includes a 10% contribution to the Russian budget, reports RBC.
According to the publication, we are talking about a subsidiary of Sistema, Cosmos North-West, which entered into a binding agreement to acquire ten hotels from Wenaas Hotel Russia, including a hotel on Nevsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg and at Sheremetyevo airport.
In the AFK message “Systems” to which the edition refers, it is said that 10% of the income from the money transaction will be transferred to the Russian budget as a voluntary contribution. It is also noted that the purchase will be made at the expense of own and borrowed funds from Cosmos North-West.
If the deal is approved by the Federal Antimonopoly Service and all regulatory approvals are received, completion is possible by the end of the first quarter of the year.
At the end of last year, the Ministry of Finance introduced a rule according to which all transactions for the sale of businesses by foreigners must pay a voluntary contribution of 10%. If the sale of hotels for a price of 203 million euros is approved, the Russian budget will receive 20.3 million euros.
