Google is expanding a new feature Google Assistant This warns users that passwords stored and used on registered accounts have been exposed in leaked databases or system intrusions.

This innovation was announced in 2021, and in the months that followed, some user groups gained access to the feature. Now, the expansion has grown even more and more people will have access to the message. But it is worth remembering that it works only from passwords saved by you in the Google Chrome browser.

The images above, posted by leak expert Max Weinbach, show how it works is pretty simple. When the system finds a password found in the leaks, Google Assistant displays a popup with an alert, as well as a shortcut for you to change the password immediately. Scanning and communication is the responsibility of Google Duplex, the company’s AI and communications framework.

This innovation has only one drawback: not all links can lead you to the registration configuration on all sites, which means that in some cases you have to navigate to the pages manually.

Users who have not yet gained access to the feature should wait for new program expansions or access Chrome’s settings to perform a manual password check.
