Iranian automaker Sapia is preparing to enter the Russian and Belarusian markets in three months, a representative of official dealer Lucky Carensi LLC told Av.by.
An agreement was signed with the company at the end of January. Now the plant in Iran is certifying the machines. The Quik cross-hatchback, as well as the Saina and Shahin sedans will enter the Belarusian market. It is still unknown which models will come to the Russian Federation.
Sapia is not the first Iranian automaker to announce plans to supply its products to Russia. In January, Iran’s chief Khodro announced deliveries of up to 2,000 vehicles to Russia in 2023.
In the context of sanctions that exclude cooperation with various Western companies, the Russian Federation is building partnerships, in particular, with Iran. Earlier, Iranian tramway equipment manufacturers visited Ust-Katav Carriage Works (owned by Roskomos). According to the company, potential partners are exploring the possibility of launching bogie production at the plant’s facilities.
