Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy has the same configuration as 1x Cortex-X3, 2x Cortex-A715, 2x Cortex-A710 and 3x Cortex-A510, but the main Cortex-X3 core runs at 3.36GHz instead of 3.2GHz. The same goes for the GPU – the Adreno 740 runs here at 719 MHz instead of the usual 680 MHz.

Here are the test results (the authors chose phones with only 1440p displays to get more comparable results in the on-screen graph tests):

As we can see, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is all over the place inferior to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. But on AnTuTu 9, the South Korean smartphone turned out better:

Overall, when it comes to GPU-intensive tasks, the Galaxy version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the clear winner.

The authors concluded that the new Galaxy S23 series offers a significant upgrade over its predecessors, regardless of version. But consumers who have used Exynos smartphones will likely benefit the most, as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy outperforms last year’s Exynos 2200.
